obamagoreFormer Vice President, Al Gore, will be meeting President Barack Obama today at 4:40 p.m. in the Oval Office. Gore served as Vice President under President Bill Clinton, and since leaving office has been a full time advocate for action on climate change. In 2006, Gore made a documentary on the disastrous effects of climate change on the earth.

This meeting is happening in advance of Obama’s attendance at the world climate summit in Copenhagen. Gore is also attending the summit, but believes that the goals being discussed at Copenhagen do not go far enough to address the serious threats of climate change.

The meeting will take place behind closed doors.

Obama will also be meeting on Wednesday with environmental and business leaders to discuss climate change before heading to Oslo to pick up his Nobel Peace Prize. Gore also won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his efforts to promote awareness on climate change.
