Nothing beats homemade gravy when you’ve got family over. Making gravy from scratch is really quite simple, and your guests will appreciate your effort. It tastes much better than the stuff you buy at the store.
How to make gravy from scratch:
When your turkey is almost done, collect all the drippings using a turkey baster. If you don’t have a turkey baster, a ladle will do. Transfer the drippings to a large bowl.
You will want to refrigerate the drippings. Cover the bowl with plastic and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes. Remove from fridge and scrape off as much of the fat from the top as possible. Strain the remaining drippings into a pan.
Heat up the drippings in the pan over medium high heat. Slowly whisk in a little bit of flour. Add flour until you get the consistency you want.
Sprinkle with your favorite seasonings. Enjoy!
Happy Thanksgiving!
